About The Event

HackXplore, TechXplore's annual hackathon is back for 2020! HackXplore is taking place from Saturday, March 21st, at 9:30 AM to Sunday, March 22nd, at 4:00 PM in the Bahen Centre for Information Technology. Join exceptional students and meet industry experts to brainstorm, build, and pitch a project–in 24 hours!

This year's theme is centred around Virtual Assistants (Think Siri, Google Assistant, Alexa, etc.) These groundbreaking technologies have become extremely relevant in today's world, and we hope that during HackXplore you will be able to innovate and 'xplore' these technologies in ways you've never imagined!

HackXplore's mission has always been to enable first time hackers and beginners to have a great experience, and this year is no different. To aid your team in achieving the best possible product, we have partnered with some very exciting companies who will provide unique software packages that contestants will be able to use, as well as host numerous workshops to get you up to speed on the core technologies that will be used.

Here are some of the few technologies that you will be exposed to during HackXplore:

- Cloud Computing

- Machine Learning

- Web Applications

Most importantly, there will be lots of free food and some surprise de-stressor activities throughout the 24 hours!

Teams will have 2 to 4 members, but don't worry if you don't have a team right now, as we will hold a team forming event closer to the date. Right now all you need to worry about is signing up as an individual which you can do right here https://bit.ly/2HP3DFa!

So what are you waiting for? Sign up for HackXplore, learn new technologies, challenge yourself, meet new people, and have a blast.

We also have volunteer and mentor openings for HackXplore, so if you'd like to be involved in that way visit https://bit.ly/2uoC1Uw
